Privacy Policy

This describes what ReelWisp collects and does with your data. It's written to be accurate and specific to this app, but it is not a substitute for a real attorney's review before public commercial launch.

What we collect

• Account information: email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password).
• The topics, scripts, and visual search terms you submit for video generation.
• The videos, audio, and captions generated from that content.
• Billing information, handled entirely by our payment provider (see below) - we never see or store your card details.
• Basic usage data (how many videos/scripts you've generated this billing period) needed to enforce your plan's limits.

Third-party services we send data to

Generating a video means parts of what you submit are sent to the services that actually do the work:

• Anthropic (Claude) - if you use AI-assisted script writing or visual search query selection, your topic/script is sent to Anthropic's API.
• Pexels and Pixabay - search terms are sent to these services to find stock video footage.
• ElevenLabs - if you use a premium narration voice, your script text is sent to ElevenLabs to generate the audio.
• Microsoft Edge text-to-speech - for the free narration voice, your script text is sent to generate the spoken narration.
• Our payment processor (a Merchant of Record handling billing and tax collection on our behalf) - your billing details are sent directly to them; we don't handle or store payment information ourselves.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data sent to them.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your rights over your data

You can request a full export of your account data, or request that your account and associated data be deleted, at any time. Contact the app operator to make either request. This applies to all users regardless of location, and is a required right for users in the EU/UK under GDPR.

Age requirements

ReelWisp is not directed at children under 13. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country, which may be as high as 16 in some EU member states), you need a parent or guardian's permission to use this service.

Cookies

ReelWisp uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It doesn't track you across other sites and isn't used for advertising.

Data retention

Generated videos and scripts are stored on the server until deleted. You can delete them yourself from the app; there's no guarantee of indefinite storage. If you delete your account, associated data is removed within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app changes. Check back here for the current version.
